Prayer Requests:
5/21/26

Deb Brereton's friend, Terry, is very sick and the doctors haven't been able to figure out what is wrong yet.   Please pray for Terry and the medical professionals that are treating him.

Oh ever immaculate Virgin, Mother of Mercy, Health of the Sick,
Refuge of Sinners, Comfortess of the Afflicted, you know my wants, my troubles, my sufferings.
Look upon me with mercy. When you appeared in the grotto of Lourdes,
you made it a privileged sanctuary where you dispense your favors,
and where many sufferers have obtained the cure of their infirmities, both spiritual and corporal.
I come, therefore, with unbounded confidence to implore your maternal intercession.
My loving Mother, obtain my request to heal Terry.
I will try to imitate your virtues so that I may one day share your
company and bless you in eternity. Amen.

We met with some old friends yesterday.  For many years while Jack and I were dating and newly married, he played on a traveling softball team.  We spent many weekends with them and they became like family.  One of the infielders lost his battle with cancer last year.  I just leaned that his wife had to put their adult son into rehab.  Please pray for total healing for him.

I received this message from Kathy Scully.  For those newer to our group, Kathy had been the Spirituality Commissioner of our CCW and did a lot to help grow our CCW and the communications within our group. She wrote me a sad story today and I hope you have a few minutes to read this and say a prayer

I have a special prayer request for Michael Clark, an U.S. Army member that was a bone marrow match for one of my oldest and dearest friends from many years ago, who fortunately (due to Michael) is still with us.

My friend Pam Koch was a young mother & bereavement counselor at her church in Chatham NJ when 9/11 happened. Chatham was the home to many mothers, fathers, sons and daughters of residents of NJ when the Twin Towers were hit on 9/11. Many families not only lost one but both their mot
hers, fathers, sons and daughters on that fateful day.  Pam was just barely out of recovery after receiving a bone marrow transplant from Michael Clark, an Air Force language translator after his tour in Afghanistan.  Later Michael was a color guard for the President at Arlington before he served his time and retired. (I just learned that all service personnel were required to enter the bone marrow program when they began their service).

Michael was a young man just starting his service career with a young wife and young children. His bone marrow donation saved my friend’s life.  She went on in recovery to start a bereavement group for the families of the fallen on 9/11. It was named the St. James Bereavement Group and met once a week for 21 years after the tragedy before disbanding.  She has written a book about her (their) story called “For Goodness Sake”. Some of the children in the group were in their mother’s womb when 9/11 happened and never had the privilege of even meeting their parent.

Pam just informed me that Michael Clark died in his mid-forties from suicide recently-a result of his depression from serving during that turbulent time.  I am asking for prayers for Michael Clark who, with his donation, allowed my friend Pam to serve all those families so impacted from that awful fateful day.  He, as well as my friend, are God’s soldiers for all of us.  He deserves our prayers along with prayers for his family. He and his wife had two children (a son that is now a U.S. Marine and a daughter studying to be a lawyer at Princeton.) May he be resting in the comfort of God’s arms today…Kathy Scully

Bless, O God of eternal life,
Michael Clark who died
by his own own hand.
Grant him peace
from his inner turmoil
and the compassion of your love.
Comfort those Michael's loved ones.
Strengthen them to face the questions of pain,
the guilt and anger,
the irreparable loss.
Help us to reach out in love
to others who prefer death
to the choices of life
and to their families who grieve.
Amen.

Please continue to pray for Drew, son of Joanie Nellis.  His surgery was this morning and they discovered multiple tumors.  He will need chemo and radiation for 12 to 18 months.  Please continue to pray for Drew and Joanie too.  Remember the Flying Novena which is praying the Memorare 9 times all at once asking for your prayers to be answered.  Then say it one more time in Thanksgiving because you know the Blessed Mother heard your prayer and will answer it.  The link above for the Flying Novena is a different link than I’ve shared before and has some interesting stories.  If you have time, click it and read all about Mother St. Theresa and the power of the Flying Novena.

Joanie Nellis son, Drew recently diagnosed with two brain tumors will be operated on tomorrow, Thursday, May 14th.  Please pray for Drew and for his mother, Joanie.

Liz Licata is asking for prayers for Kathleen Christiansen who has been on chemo for over a year and needs lots of prayers for her port infection to heal so she can possibly be a candidate for some trials and that her chemo will work.
